PEG-MGF

Research ChemicalModerate Research

Also known as: PEGylated Mechano Growth Factor · PEG-MGF IGF-1Ec

A PEGylated form of Mechano Growth Factor that promotes muscle repair and growth by activating satellite cells, with extended half-life for sustained anabolic signaling.

Overview

PEG-MGF (PEGylated Mechano Growth Factor) is a modified form of the IGF-1Ec splice variant that is naturally produced in muscle tissue in response to mechanical stress (exercise). MGF is responsible for activating muscle satellite cells — the stem cells that repair and grow muscle tissue after damage. The PEGylation (attachment of polyethylene glycol) extends the half-life from minutes to several hours, allowing for practical dosing protocols. Natural MGF is produced locally in damaged muscle and has an extremely short half-life, making it impractical as an injectable.

PEG-MGF overcomes this limitation while retaining the satellite cell-activating properties. It is particularly valued for its ability to promote muscle repair, enhance recovery from training, and potentially support muscle hyperplasia (new fiber creation) rather than just hypertrophy.

Mechanism of Action

Activates muscle satellite cells (muscle stem cells) by binding to the IGF-1 receptor splice variant. Promotes satellite cell proliferation and differentiation into new myonuclei. Enhances local IGF-1 signaling in damaged muscle tissue. The PEG moiety protects against proteolytic degradation, extending systemic half-life.

Use Caution (1)

IGF-1 LR3Caution

Both are growth factors that promote cell proliferation. Combined use may cause excessive growth signaling. Use at different times — PEG-MGF post-workout, IGF-1 LR3 on off days.
